Functions:
Areas of molecular biology (laboratories S1, S2 and offices) are being renovated or brought up to the state of the art. In addition, a structural revision of the safety and fire protection concept will be carried out.
The refurbishment will be carried out purely in the interior area. The building structure remains unchanged. The consolidation of all NAWI S2 laboratories into three S2 areas, on the ground floor, OG1 and OG3 - building component E, will result in a significant improvement from a safety perspective.
Challenges overcome:
In order to maintain ongoing operations, the project was divided into 3 construction phases with a total of 14 work areas. Special attention must be paid to low-noise, low-dust and low-vibration demolition in coordination with the user.
